Book Character Day!

How cute are our book characters?!  From Clifford to Harry Potter, Dorothy to Pinkalicious, Fancy Nancy to Thing 1 & Thing 2, the Very Hungry Caterpillar to Diary of a Wimpy Kid, we are showing our school spirit!!  Thanks to everyone who participated!  

A Few Things...

·       Please teach your child how to tie their shoes. 

·       Don’t forget to send a snack with your child each day. 

·       Empty out your child’s folder & book bag daily.

·       We go outside every day for recess—please send a coat, hat, and gloves if necessary!

Needs and Wants

Our social studies curriculum this quarter focuses around Needs and Wants. This morning we worked to create collages of things we need and things we want. 

Reminders & Wishes

A few reminders...

• it is getting colder so PLEASE send your child to school with a coat
• remember to send a snack every day with your child 
• tomorrow is "B" day so we have P.E.: wear tennis shoes
• practice your sight words daily

• treasures for the treasure box
• individually packaged snacks for children who either don't have snacks or forget their snack

This Friday, wear your slippers for school spirit!  Each Friday we have a different spirit day at Douglas, I love how so many of our students are participating!

We Need Art Supplies!

We are planning an art collaboration this Friday with the art specialist.  We will be creating textured animals from the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  Please donate ANY supplies that you can by Friday, November 7th.
